Check your data and duration

Prepaid SIMs vary a lot in how much data and how many days you get. Generally, the longer the validity, the cheaper it works out per day. Do a quick comparison before buying — a 30-day unlimited plan can often be better value than a 7-day high-speed bundle.

Personally, I like having unlimited data. I find myself catching up on news, reading local websites, or checking in with home while waiting at airports or in lines. Knowing I can scroll freely without worrying about limits just makes the trip smoother.

And of course, you need to share 500 photos a day on Facebook or Instagram so people can see what you had for breakfast or what your pillow looks like.  You'd hate to run out of data doing that!
